Doorstep Drive Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Doorstep Drive services, vehicle bookings, rental responsibilities, insurance requirements, cancellations, liability, and platform policies. By booking or using our services, you agree to comply with all terms outlined below.
Driver requirements
Renters must meet Doorstep Drive eligibility requirements including valid identification, driver’s license verification, insurance compliance, and approved payment methods.
Full coverage required
Doorstep Drive does not provide insurance coverage. All renters must maintain active full-coverage auto insurance throughout the rental period.
Responsible vehicle use
Vehicles must be operated lawfully and responsibly. Unauthorized drivers, prohibited activities, or misuse may result in penalties or termination of the rental.
Booking assistance
Our support team is available to assist with booking questions, delivery coordination, cancellations, and rental-related concerns.
Rental Eligibility & Insurance Requirements
To rent a vehicle through Doorstep Drive, renters must satisfy all eligibility, licensing, insurance, and payment verification requirements before approval.
1. Eligibility to Rent
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Have active full-coverage auto insurance.
- Provide a valid credit/debit card.
- Agree to all Terms and Conditions.
2. Insurance Requirement
Doorstep Drive does not provide insurance. Renters must have full coverage insurance that:
- Includes liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage.
- Is under the renter’s name.
- Is active for the full rental period.
Proof is required before booking. We may contact your insurer for verification.
Deposits, Usage & Vehicle Responsibilities
Renters are responsible for proper vehicle use, timely returns, and maintaining the vehicle condition during the rental period.
3. Deposit Policy
- If full coverage is verified, no deposit is required.
- If not, a $500 refundable deposit may apply or the rental may be denied.
- Deposits are refunded within 5–7 business days after a satisfactory return.
4. Vehicle Usage Restrictions
You may not:
- Use for rideshare or delivery unless approved.
- Drive under the influence.
- Leave the United States.
- Sublease or allow unauthorized drivers.
- Use for racing, towing, or off-roading.
5. Vehicle Condition & Responsibility
You are responsible for returning the vehicle in its original condition.
You are liable for:
- Damages not covered by insurance.
- Lost keys, flat tires, towing, or cleaning fees.
- Parking fines or violations during your rental.
6. Delivery & Return
Doorstep Drive offers free local delivery and pickup services.
You agree to:
- Be available at the delivery location on time.
- Return the vehicle on time and in good condition.
- Report any issues immediately.
Cancellations, Liability & Legal Policies
These policies explain refund eligibility, liability limitations, privacy practices, governing law, and renter acknowledgments.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancel up to 24 hours before the rental for a full refund.
- Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 25% fee.
8. Limitation of Liability
Doorstep Drive is not liable for:
- Indirect or incidental damages.
- Delays caused by external events.
- Items left in the vehicle.
You agree to indemnify Doorstep Drive against any claims related to your rental.
9. Privacy Policy
Your information is collected to:
- Verify identity and insurance.
- Process payments.
- Fulfill legal obligations.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
10. Modifications
These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use signifies acceptance of the latest version.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Indiana law. Any disputes must be resolved in Vanderburgh County, Indiana courts.
12. Renter Agreement Acknowledgments
By proceeding with a booking, the renter confirms:
- “I have read and agree to the Terms & Conditions, including the full insurance requirement and liability clauses.”
- “In the event of damages not covered by renter’s insurance, the renter agrees to be personally liable and authorizes Doorstep Drive to recover all associated costs directly.”
Acknowledgment: By booking a vehicle, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
